Eggnog Cream Custards

  • 4 cups eggnog
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon powdered gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dash nutmeg

Put water in small bowl and sprinkle gelatin over the top. Do not stir, but allow to soak for about 10 minutes.

In a medium saucepan, heat the eggnog until almost boiling. Remove from heat and add gelatin, stirring to dissolve. Add vanilla, and stir. Pour mixture into serving bowl or 6-8 individual custard cups. Do not cover.

Chill for at least two hours; sprinkle with nutmeg (or top with a small gingerbread cookie) and serve.
